Journal #1: How It Begins

Well its 8:35 in the morning and I’m just finishing up a glass of Lindeman’s Bin 50 Shiraz wine–2009.  And no, I didn’t wake up and finish an old glass–I haven’t slept yet.

I feel energized and I am in no mood to return to my Aunt’s basement to get a good nights sleep–or good morning sleep.

I quit my long held ambulance company job in late October and then watched my Uncle with dementia roam aimlessly around the house while my Aunt went on her “Stan” trip–that being–Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, and  Uzbekistan.  She should be writing a blog instead, but I suppose she is too old school for that.  Old school like she was in Afghanistan before the Russians invaded.

I’ve had a few blogs over the years: Chicagowithdrawal, MindofJr and others I can’t seem to remember.  I routinely get semi-popular blogs and delete them–in erratic self destructive manor that go out as big as they come in–with a few people asking themselves: “What was that?”

I’m hoping to capture that recklessly organized energy and, with any luck, find myself with a blog that can last.  I’ve got a plane ticket to Southeast Asia, a few grand, and some planning to do before I go on my first adventure: Thailand.

I’m hoping to get a signature header as well as some great color photos around to try to make this blog a little more vibrant; but until then, I’ll just rely on my writing.
